Broker Schedule

Specialty Motor Group charges a percentage of the sale price based on a sliding scale relating to value. Over and above this percentage we charge $500 at the car’s arrival for the first 3 months of advertisements to cover detailing, photography, ad copy, and storage. After the initial three months, we charge a flat fee of $250 per month. Individual arrangements can tailor made for your specific car.

Cars up to $50,000: Sold at a 12% commission rate
$50,000-$150,000: Sold at a 8% commission rate
$150,000-$250,000: Sold at a 7% commission rate
$250,000-$1,000,000: Sold at a 5% commission rate
Cars over $1,000,000: Sold at a 4% commission rate
Race cars: Sold at a 8% commission rate
Replicars: Sold at a 8% commission rate
Prewar Cars: Sold at a 8% commission rate

In contrast, selling your car though one of the major auction houses will ultimately cost 10% on BOTH the Buyer's and Seller’s sides. Therefore, the Seller only realizes 80% of what the Buyer actually paid for the car.

Selling Your Car at Specialty Motor Group

In order to achieve maximum value for a consigned car, we encourage the current owner to bring or ship everything they want the next owner to have. Specifically, all receipts outlining cosmetic and mechanical work completed, documents providing information on ownership history, newsletter or magazine articles, spare parts, tools, service books and owners manuals. These items, if available, are extremely helpful to us, and undoubtedly a value added feature in the eyes of the buyer. The Consignor keeps the original title, but Specialty Motor Group will need a photocopy of the title and proof of insurance if applicable. Specialty Motor Group has a liability policy to cover the consignor and Specialty Motor Group, but does not carry comprehensive coverage on the cars for theft, fire, collision or other damages. The seller should leave their policy in force until the car is fully paid for.
